Clinical Site Support and Sample Logistics
To ensure high quality results our project managers will work closely with the study team and sites throughout the sample collection and transportation process. Custom designed laboratory requisitions, kits, and lab manuals help clinical sites accurately collect, process, and ship clinical samples. Cenetron staff is available 24 hours a day to answer any questions that arise during collection, processing, and shipping of clinical samples.
Cenetron works closely with all couriers and shippers (Marken, World Courier, Ocasa, TNT, FedEx, DHL, UPS) to ensure your supplies and samples are shipped to our and your specifications. All shipments are monitored to ensure they arrive at the intended temperature and in the required timeframe.
Cenetron is proud to partner with Cryoport to provide a seamless flow of frozen samples. The Cryoport solution is a cost-effective, state-of-the-art, end-to-end solution for shipping frozen biological materials. The system combines an innovative pre-packaged LN2-vapor dry shipper with web-based Cryoportal™ ordering technology and international logistics management to track and monitor the integrity of the frozen shipments worldwide.
In addition to the direct cost savings of shipping with Cryoport versus a dry ice shipper, there are three elements to the system that provide significant benefits and reinforce its overall value:
Reduced Risk of Specimen Loss
The holding time for the Cryoport Express® Shipper is 10+ days compared to two to three days with dry ice systems. This minimizes the risk of sample and data loss due to unexpected delays such as custom holds, routing errors, or weather delays.
Less Environmental Impact
Unlike liquid nitrogen, which evaporates harmlessly, dry ice evaporates as carbon dioxide - a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Plus, Cryoport Shippers are returned to Cryoport at the end of each shipment for recycling, so you do not have to send expanded polystyrene or polyurethane insulated boxes or cardboard used with dry ice to landfills.
Fewer Regulatory Restrictions
The liquid nitrogen vapor dry shippers utilized in the Cryoport shippers are classified as non-hazardous by IATA, and require no special labeling or handling. Dry ice, on the other hand, must be labeled as dangerous goods and can be refused as cargo by the airlines. In addition, an increasing number of countries simply refuse to allow dry ice shipments into or within their borders, creating major challenges for the global movement of frozen biological materials.
